One of the great advantages of anaerobic digestion is that it produces a nutrient rich digestate fertiliser. This fertiliser is a very valuable source of readily available plant nutrients:
- Trace elements Magnesium, Sulphur, Sodium.
This fertiliser is commonly applied to growing combinable crops at the early stages of growth, in autumn and spring. It aids speedy establishment of young plants to help increase yields. Plus, it helps meet the crops nutrient requirements for the growing season. This fertiliser can also be applied to land pre-drilling of combinable and root crops, sugar beet, pre-planting of potatoes and veg crops. It has also been successfully applied by accurately metering into irrigation systems.
We use an accredited laboratory to perform regular tests on the nutrient content of our digestate fertiliser.

This is applied to the land using a tractor with a dribble bar attachment and an umbilical pipe from either one of our underground mains or a nurse tank at the side of the field.
